Refurbishment project
Graham has received documents from the Diocesan Registrar, Chris Hodson, regarding our proposals for refurbishing the church.
The registrar has enclosed the report by the Chancellor of the Diocese.
The Chancellor clearly went into all the plans very deeply, and certainly considered thoroughly all of the written objections. A copy of her full assessment can be viewed in the Office by anyone who wishes to read it.
It has been decided that St Jude's has clearance to go ahead with all of the plan submitted - but with the proviso that no work be started without the full support of the Archdeacon and the new Vicar. (This restriction does not relate to uncontroversial work such as the heating, lighting, sound system and external doors)
The Chancellor expresses her hope that although some people, "will be disappointed with my decision but trust that all parties will be able to work together in the mission of the Church". Graham and the churchwardens are sure that this is the spirit in which things will be carried forward in due time.
