     Have you had a look around church lately?

  • Tamara and I are involved in a couples’ ministry at church, and are currently working on next year’s calendar. It’s a weekly event and we try and keep it as dynamic as possible, with games, socials, talks, films – all designed to strengthen marriage and the family around Christian principles. Another couple who have a ministry with married couples is now coming into the leadership circle, so this should bring fresh impetus and some new ideas for 2009.
             
    Looking back over 2008, there have been several highlights. Many have come to know the Lord Jesus through evangelistic events such as “Youth Encounter with Christ” and “Cursillo”, new converts include former Satanists like José and recently a militant atheist called Henio, who is now very active in church. Lectures have gone well and it’s rewarding to see our future leaders progressing in their studies.

    An obvious personal high point this year was GAFCON – a global Anglican conference in Jerusalem, It was great to walk where Jesus walked and to actually visit the places we read about in the Bible.
